MOEBE's Range Of Homewares Is One For The Minimalists, As Well As The Eco-Conscious

MOEBE's range are a minimalist's dream. Refined to the most important features, each product projects beauty through its considered design and exceptional functionality.

But there's more to the brand than just clever, aesthetically pleasing pieces - the MOEBE team have dedicated much of their creative process to reducing the environmental impact of their range, whilst implementing sustainable practices, in clever ways.

Read on to discover how MOEBE have future-proofed their brand by way of sustainability.

Founded in 2014, Moebe is a coming together of design trained and centric minds. Their range features all manner of beautifully considered pieces, including hooks, mirrors, storage, art prints, and frames. Architects, Martin de Neergaard Christensen and Nicholas Oldroyd, alongside cabinet maker, Anders Thams, design the entire range in-house, allowing for full control of the process from conception right through to production. This collaborative process sees more opportunity for the team to experiment and trial new ideas. The result: refined design that's simple and easy to use, sustainable for the environment, and will stay relevant and last beyond a few years.

With modularity in mind, the team bring their ideas and designs to life, centred around a component based approach – ie when you purchase a  MOEBE  product, it will arrive to you in bits. No, they’re not broken, but a some very simple assembly is required. A bit like something from IKEA… flat-packed! That’s the word.

This in itself grants plenty of benefits, which we’ll chat about later, but we think being able to point to something beautiful in your home and say, hey look, I made that, is quite satisfying.

MOEBE’s
sustainable approach doesn’t only take into the product’s longevity, repairability, or recyclability, into account. The team delve deeper, and look at other ways to conduct themselves in an environmentally sustainable fashion. Packaging is one area they’ve flagged as an area worth investing in, making it of equal importance as the design of their products.

All their packages are cardboard based, free of glues and lamination, which makes recycling a breeze. Transportation is another area  MOEBE  identify as having an impact on the environment, and is why they make products from separable parts. Packaging these up in their most reduced forms makes shipping a breeze, and cuts transport volume to a minimum.
